Uganda celebrates Expo 2020 National Day

On the 3rd of October, 2021 Uganda celebrated its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai. Putting together a memorable string of cultural and musical performances at the grand Al Wasi Plaza. There was also a business briefing session held at the Business Connect centre.

To mark the significance of the days events, Ugandan President, His Excellency, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni led a delegation that comprised of speaker of parliament, Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah, third Deputy Prime Minister Rukia Nakadama Isanga and Minister Of Foreign Affairs, Al-Haji Abubaker Jeje Odongo. President Museveni’s delegation were received and welcomed by Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai.

His Excellency, Museveni punted the many business opportunities available in his country, echoed by Sheikh Nahayan’s description of Uganda as one of the fastest growing in East Africa.

“Uganda’s participation under the theme, ‘Right Place, Right Time,’ underscores it as country of many opportunities; from its unparalleled natural beauty, endowed with diverse wildlife and landscapes, to its strategic investment opportunities across multiple sectors”

Sheikh Nahayan concluded his remarks by highlighting that the United Arab Emirates is open to partnering with Uganda in fields such as tourism, biodiversity and renewable energy.

The day’s events entirely showcased Uganda as a country that is the destination for trade and diverse investment opportunities.

‘Every African adventure starts in Uganda’ is the slogan of the Ugandan pavilion, located in the Opportunity District. The pavilion is inspired by Uganda’s famous tours, taking visitors on a journey linking different times, eras and places, and see how adventure and opportunity converge in today’s Uganda.
